By accessing or using Inheritify ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age.

2. Description of Service

Inheritify is an encrypted digital legacy platform that provides:

Zero-knowledge encrypted storage for digital assets, messages, and files
Dead man's switch functionality for automated delivery based on inactivity
Vault-level recipient assignment for controlling which trusted contacts receive each vault
Guided delivery processes for recipients

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. When you register, you agree to:

Provide accurate, current, and complete information
Maintain and promptly update your account information
Maintain the security of your password and accept all risks of unauthorized access
Notify us immediately if you discover any unauthorized use of your account

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

Store, transmit, or distribute any content that is unlawful, harmful, or violates any law
Impersonate any person or entity
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
Use the Service for any fraudulent or illegal purpose

4.2 Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for all content you upload, store, or transmit through the Service. Due to our zero-knowledge architecture, we cannot access, review, or monitor your encrypted content.

5. Zero-Knowledge Architecture

Our Service uses zero-knowledge encryption, meaning:

Your data is encrypted on your device before transmission to our servers
We do not have access to your encryption keys or unencrypted data
We cannot recover your data if you lose your password or encryption keys
We cannot comply with requests to provide unencrypted user content because we do not have access to it

Important: You are solely responsible for maintaining access to your encryption keys and password. Lost keys cannot be recovered by Inheritify.

6. Subscription and Payments

6.1 Free and Paid Plans

The Service offers both free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans provide additional features and storage capacity as described on our pricing page.

6.2 Billing

For paid plans, you agree to pay all applicable fees. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis depending on your plan selection.

6.3 Refunds

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. Refund requests must be submitted to support@inheritify.com within 30 days of the initial purchase or renewal.

7. Dead Man's Switch Functionality

The dead man's switch feature operates based on your configured check-in intervals and verification settings. You acknowledge that:

Delivery is triggered based on inactivity as defined by your settings
Email reminders and escalation steps are used before delivery is initiated
You are responsible for maintaining accurate recipient information
We are not liable for delivery failures due to incorrect recipient information

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding user content), features, and functionality are owned by Inheritify Inc. and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination:

Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
You may export your encrypted data before termination
Account deletion may remove app database records and associated encrypted file objects

10. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Inheritify Inc., its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

11. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
